Kolkata CP Manoj Verma warns students against cybercrime at St. Stephen’s school event

Kolkata Police Commissioner Manoj Kumar Verma IPS addressed students and teachers at St. Stephen’s School, Bowbazar, in an interactive session focused on law enforcement, cyber safety, and responsible citizenship. Shri Verma emphasized the growing threat of cybercrime, urging students to remain cautious online. He warned against clicking on suspicious links from unknown numbers, highlighting the risks of financial fraud and personal data theft. "Never click on links from unknown numbers—it could be a trap leading to financial fraud," he said. He also outlined measures taken by the police to combat digital crimes and encouraged students to report suspicious activities.

The Commissioner also spoke about the broader responsibilities of law enforcement and the role of education in fostering informed and responsible citizens. He highlighted the significance of cooperation between the police and the public in maintaining safety and security.
